In a game of skill and teamwork, Trim dominated the match against BHG, securing a decisive victory
From the throw in Trim started the game started with intent, winning the throw in but with Ellen's early shot narrowly missed. The Trim defenders remained steadfast clearing ball back up the field allowing Chantel Massey to open the scoring with two rapid points. The girls were putting continuing pressure on the BHG puck out with further points from Sara McCormack adding to Trim’s lead.
Mischa joined the scoreboard with a point, and Ellen added a 45 to the tally, keeping the pressure on BHG. As the first half progressed, Trim's relentless defense prevented BHG from advancing past the halfway line, culminating in a goal from Sara McCormack. Further points from Chantel and a free from Ellen adding to Trim’s tally. Midfield were dominating and with Mischa and Sarah O’Connor breaking down the BHD clearances providing great ball in to Sarah Mc who once again hit the back of the BHG net. Incredible defending and attacks from the Trim side leading to half time with a comfortable lead.
On the resumption of the second half there was no let up from the girls with Ellen scoring from a free and Leah Boyle stepping up and hitting the back of the net from a very well taken free. A few switches from management seen Mary Andrews stepping out from goals and taking up a position with the forwards, putting over a lovely point from play, her first in ten years right over the black spot. A nice sideline in from Mischa setting up Sara McCormack for another point . Mischa followed with a point of her own and a quick ball from Mary let to Sara adding to the growing Trim tally.
The entire Trim team showcased incredible defending and attacking prowess, resulting in a great win for the girls.
Special mention to Leah Boyle, the Junior Player of the Year 2024, and Clíona Walsh, the Young Player of the Year 2024, whose outstanding performances have significantly enhanced their team's success.
Both players have not only excelled in their respective roles but are continuing to show great promise for the future and their team's achievements in 2025. Their commitment and talent serve as an inspiration to teammates and fans alike, promising even more thrilling performances in the coming year.
