Trim starting off strong with a win from the throw in by sending in the ball to the forwards for a close shot on goal but a great block from the Don/Ash goalie clearing the ball.  A tough tackle with Rian coming out strong with the ball.  Don/Ash winning a free with a strong puc into the box with Leighann winning the ball and driving it down the pitch, but it was Don/Ash putting the first score on the board with a point.   Ellen then winning the puc out from Mary and driving the ball over the bar making it a draw game.  Don/Ash coming back and scoring another point, but Trim didn’t let them stay in front for long with a pass from Mischa to Shona to draw the game again.  Two early goals and a strong first half from the visitors winning a lot of free ball and stronger coming away with the ball seen them going into the break with a five-point advantage.

 

HT   Áth Troim 0-05  Don/Ash 2-04  

 

Trim set out from the start with Mischa winning the throw in driving it down to Rachel.  This was to set the Trim play for second half with them coming out stronger and taking on more of the tackles.   Aoibhe winning another free with Leighann driving the ball down to Shona.   Shona winning a free and popping over for a point.  

 

Shona was on a roll, dominating the field and playing a stormer causing havoc for the Don/Ash back line scoring point after point steadily picking away at the half time difference.  A superbly taken shot at goal from Shona giving Trim a two-point lead.     The match remained fiercely competitive, with both teams battling for every ball and end to end play.   Mary putting her body on the line to prevent a certain Don/Ash goal resulting in a free in.   Trim filling the goals but the sliotar still finding it’s way to the back of the net making it a draw game.    A nail-biting final couple of minutes and it was Ellen with a super run and nicely taking strike to put the sliotar over the bar.   Final whistle and Trim take the win by a single point.
