A great team performance from the Trim girls today as they battled their way to a well-earned victory over Clann na Gael. 

 

In what was a tough and physical game, the girls showed fantastic determination throughout, working hard against a strong wind and continuing to play some great camogie despite the challenging conditions.

 

The Trim forwards kept the scoreboard ticking over, with Ellen Murray showing great composure from placed balls and converting some brilliant frees, while Anna Foley and Emma Hannafin showed excellent decision-making in attack, backing themselves to take on the score when the opportunity arose.

 

At the other end, the Trim backs worked tirelessly to keep Clann na Gael at bay, with Leighanne Massey getting in front of the ball and making some crucial catches and clearances. Lauren Farrell also making some crucial blocks to deny clan na Gael scores. In midfield, Alex Donoghue and Rian Kearns covered every blade of grass, working back to support the defence while also driving forward and linking up with the attack.

 

Half time seen Shona White coming on and making an instant impact, with her very first touch finding the back of the net. As the game entered its closing stages, Shona was on hand again, sent a lovely ball into Blathnaid Hughes who finished brilliantly into the back of the net.

 

A fantastic testament to the whole team, with every girl willing to work for each other and step into whatever position was needed, putting the team first and showing great determination from start to finish.
