Atha Troim v Baile Sencaill (away)
Trim v Seneschalstown is always a competitive fixture, no matter the age group. Last Fridays meeting of the U17s was no different. Seneschalstown were first to get points on the board and kept it ticking over throughout the first half. It was end to end football, with Seneschalstown just that bit more clicnical in front of gaol. On the half time whistle the score was 3-05 to Seneschaltown, 0-08 to Trim.
Seneschalstown rattled the net twice in quick succession to kick off the 2nd half. The Trim players, in true style, didn’t drop their heads however and kept the score board ticking over earning them a goal and a string of well worked points from play. A penalty to Trim added another goal.
Piling on the pressure Trim forced the majority of play into the Seneschalstown half for the final 15 mins, rattling the woodwork several times, which have a thrilling finish and very entertaining end to the game.
The final score Seneschalstown 6-09, Trim 2-15 … if it wasn’t for those two quick goals at the start of the half, things would have been very different.
